The Brazilian Navy has awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit to supply bridge navigation systems for the navy’s newly built patrol boats.

Under the contract, the company will deliver four of its VisionMaster FT navigation systems, which will be integrated into the new NAPA 500t patrol vessels.

The scope of supply also includes navigation radars, autopilot, heading and speed sensors, and other future-generation technologies.

The computer-based VisionMaster FT systems incorporate state-of-the-art automatic clutter-suppression software and use high-resolution flat-screen display technology to identify and track weak target signals under adverse sea and weather conditions.
