The RSM-50 is a two-stage, liquid propellant SLBM developed by the Soviet Union to equip the navy’s Delta III-class strategic submarines.
The missiles were test-fired from the Russian Navy’s pacific fleet nuclear submarines and successfully hit their designated targets in the uninhabited peninsula of Kanin.
The RSM-50 has the capacity to carry from one to seven nuclear warheads and can hit strategic targets at an intercontinental range of 6,500km to 8,000km.
The Russian Navy’s Delta III Class submarines each can hold a total of 16 RSM-50 submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
