Under the $60m contract, the company will provide technical support services to Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Management Air (PMA) 280, which is responsible for delivering the Tomahawk cruise missile to the navy.
The Tomahawk land-attack missile (TLAM) is a submarine-launched long-range cruise missile, designed for precision strike missions against heavily defended targets.
In addition, the SAIC will provide services for systems engineering, configuration management, safety, simulation, advance concepts, and test and evaluation.
The five-year contract has been awarded by NAVAIR and the work will be carried out primarily at Patuxent River, Maryland.
