Under the $6.9m contract, the company will produce and deliver special test equipment required to support the navy’s multimission helicopter communication systems and will allow the navy to perform fleet repairs for the helicopters.
The test equipment supports the navy’s MH-60R and MH-60S multimission helicopters, which have been installed with Telephonics communication systems for flight and support crew communications management.
In addition, Telephonics will train navy personnel on how to repair the systems and on the operation of equipment.
The support equipment is expected to be delivered to the navy’s Fleet Resource Center Southwest (FRC-SW) in early 2011.
