The UK Royal Navy’s Trafalgar Class lead submarine HMS Trafalgar has been officially decommissioned following 26 years of naval service.

During its service, the hunter-killer submarine operated in every time zone and in every ocean, and transited all major waterways, including the Suez and Panama Canals and the Malacca Straits.

The submarine could accommodate a crew complement of around 130 personnel and can cruise at a maximum speed of 32kt.

Armaments on the nuclear-powered submarine included five missile tubes capable of firing Spearfish torpedoes and Tomahawk missiles.

The vessel was also equipped with sonar including bow, active intercept and towed arrays, attack and search periscopes collision avoidance radar, and electronic warfare equipment.
