The US Navy has awarded a contract to Obzerv Technologies for its active range-gated ARGC-2400 long-range night vision camera.

Under the contract, the US Navy will test the ARGC-2400 camera by conducting data collection at several critical navy locations where surveillance capabilities cannot withstand the environmental conditions and will analyse its performance.

The US Navy Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division spokesman Steve Schelfhout said the ARGC-2400 camera could capture and display clear visual data without interference from parasitic light and adverse weather conditions.

“The ARGC-2400 can see through glass and read markings, is rugged and waterproofed. The ARGC-2400 can also be slaved to radars or other detection system,” he said.

Manufacture work for the range-gated imaging systems for night surveillance will be carried out at the company’s facility in Quebec, Canada.
