Under the contract, Raytheon will supply 132 Vertical Launch System (VLS) missiles, 53 Capsule Launch System (CLS) missiles and 11 Torpedo Tube Launch (TTL) missiles for the fiscal year 2010.
The Tomahawk Block IV missile is an all-weather, long range, subsonic cruise missile used for land attack warfare, launched from surface ships equipped with VLS, submarines equipped with CLS, and submarines equipped with TTL.
Work will be carried out in several locations across the US and is expected to be complete by July 2012.
The contract has been awarded by the US Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland.
