Siemens Industry, in cooperation with American Systems, will supply power metering equipment and services for the US Navy’s south-west advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) project.

The Siemens system enables the US Navy to receive the allocation and management data of electricity, natural gas, steam and water at each base for further analysis.

The AMI project was launched to establish an energy usage baseline, collect information on energy consumption, and discover ways to reduce consumption and costs through the improved allocation of energy resources at various locations throughout the navy’s south-west region.

Under the contract, Siemens will supply advanced electrical power meters, WinPM.Net energy monitoring software and implementation engineering services.

The company will also provide project management services, and gas, water and steam flow meters that provide data to the WinPM.Net system.
