During the last day of navy drills, Iranian warships, hovercraft, and heavy and light submarines demonstrated the combat power. They were also accompanied by the Iranian Air Force’s warplanes and helicopters.
Vellayat 89 was carried out in an area of around 140,000km² in nine distinctive phases, during which Iran displayed its defensive and deterrent naval power in the country’s southern waters, according to irna.ir.
The last phase of the exercise included the navy’s test launch of electronic and anti-electronic warfare using distracters and alarm signallers, and surface-to-surface and undersurface missiles to target potential threats.
Iran demonstrated its combat capabilities against all possible threats and practised defending undersurface missiles by firing new locally built weapons.
