During the test, the complete missile trajectory was tracked by radar and electro-optic sensors, and the test data was sent to telemetry stations for post-launch analysis, according to domain-b.com.
The Prithvi-II is a surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a maximum striking range of 350km and a payload capacity of 500kg.
The missile has already been inducted into the Indian armed forces and the Indian Navy is operating a Prithvi missile under the designation Dhanush.
The test was carried out by the Indian specialised group strategic force command.
