Raytheon will develop an international variant of the APY-10 surveillance radar for the Indian Navy’s P-8I aircraft under a new contract awarded by Boeing.

The APY-10 radar is a long-range, multimission, maritime and overland surveillance radar for installation on the P-8I aircraft being built by Boeing Company.

It provides the navy with accurate information in all weather conditions during anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare and for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission support.

As a subcontractor to Boeing, Raytheon has delivered four out of six APY-10 systems along with spares for the P-8A, of which the P-8I is a variant.
