The Russian Navy’s Moskva missile cruiser has successfully completed operations in Vostok 2010 military drills and set off for its home port in Ukraine’s port of Sevastopol.

During the naval exercise, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet operated jointly with the Northern Fleet, the Pyotr Veliky guided-missile cruiser, and the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the Varyag guided-missile cruiser, according to RIA Novosti.

The three warships carried out live firing at naval and aerial drones and practiced combat interoperability, and repelling simulated submarine and aircraft attacks.

A Russian Navy spokesman said the missile cruiser will have to pass across the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans.

Vostok-2010 began on 29 June and ended on 8 July involving 20,000 troops, up to 2,500 military hardware units, 70 warplanes and 30 warships.
