The Italian Navy will install Indra’s electronic defence systems on two new U212 submarines after signing an agreement with Fincantieri – Cantieri Navali Italiani.

The system will not only allow the traditional submarine to detect the most advanced active radar within a certain range but also those with low probability of detection.

The high information-processing capacity of the system is capable of recognising the electronic fingerprint that distinguishes radar types and even records all the data for further analysis.

The solution can be easily integrated either with command and control systems, and communications, or with other transmitters embarked on the U212.

The system also serves on Germany’s U212, Eurofighter, A400M, F100 frigates, Strategic Projection ships and future S80 submarines.
