The HMA Sirius and Success ships, three Anzac Class frigates, HMA Dechaineux and Collins submarines, an Armidale Class patrol boat HMAS Albany and AP-3C, F111 and Hawk fighter aircraft represented the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
The exercise provided graduated training activities and weapons practices during simulated warfare at sea to test the strength of participating forces.
The ships and submarines were also tested on their capabilities to react to and deal with different scenarios, whilst effective operational ability with other navies was also under scrutiny.
The RAN hosted the Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Japan naval forces which were supported by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), the Royal New Zealand Air Force and the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force.
