The US and South Korean Navies will conduct postponed anti-submarine exercises from 27 September to 1 October in the Yellow Sea between China and Korea.

The second joint exercise is designed to deter North Korea’s provocation and will involve nine ships and a surveillance aircraft.

The US forces will send two guided missile destroyers, a surveillance ship, a fast attack submarine and P-3C Orion aircraft, whereas South Korea will send two destroyers, a fast frigate, a patrol craft, P-3C aircraft and a submarine.

The exercise had previously been postponed due to a typhoon, according to Agence France Presse.
