The UK Navy’s Trafalgar Class nuclear-powered attack submarine, HMS Talent, is the first to undergo Babcock’s 13-month revalidation and assisted maintenance period (RAMP) at Devonport Dockyard following the introduction of the Contracting for Availability approach.
The Talent upgrade includes a full gearbox strip-down, removal and replacement of internal pinions for off-site machining, and represervation of the emergency cooling hard tank with an enhanced coating.
