The Indian Navy has set up stringent information technology security safety measures to avoid situations like the 2005 naval war-room leak case in the future, the Indian Defence Ministry has said.

Indian Defence Minister AK Antony said an elaborate counter-intelligence system has been established to provide cover to all ships, units and establishments.

“The naval war-room leak in 2005 was the only such case in the past ten years. In order to avoid such situations, stringent IT security measures have been put in place in the Directorate of Naval Operations, including the naval war-room,” he said.

A case in the naval war-room leak episode was registered on 20 March 2006 against certain dismissed officers of the navy and air force, according to Zee News.
