The Israeli Navy is to receive and absorb two new German-made Dolphin Class submarines into service.

The addition of the two submarines, alongside the existing three, has increased the force strength to 66% and has also increased the IDF recruitment batches by 30%.

The navy is recruiting and training more cadets into service in order to man the additional submarines, according to Israeli National News.

The existing three submarines, which also belong to the Dolphin Class, carry nuclear-tipped cruise missiles of an unidentified type with a range of 800 miles.
