Boeing F/A-18 and EA-18 programmes vice-president Kory Mathews said the EA-18G’s airborne electronic attack capability kept the aircraft in high demand.
The EA-18G is a derivative of the two-seat F/A-18F block II Super Hornet aircraft and is designed to enable the warfighter to operate either from the aircraft carrier deck or from land-based airfields.
The aircraft is the only air combat platform that delivers full-spectrum airborne electronic attack (AEA) capability and will replace the navy’s current AEA platform, the EA-6B Prowler.
