The US Navy has decommissioned the USS Jarrett (FFG 33) guided-missile frigate at San Diego Naval Base, US, after 27 years of service.
The 453ft-long, 4,100t Oliver Hazard Perry Class guided-missile frigate was commissioned on 2 July 1983.

The missile frigate was capable of accommodating a crew of 188 and cruising at a speed of 29kt and has completed 15 deployments to the Middle East, Central America and south-east Asia.
The frigate will be classified as inactive and then towed to Bremerton, Washington, US, for storage, paving the way for future foreign military sales.
