Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) and MarineForce International (MFI) have signed a frame agreement with the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation to provide in-service support for Norwegian ULA Class submarines.

According to the frame agreement, the consortium will provide access to specialised engineering services for extended submarine operation until 2020.

The consortium has also instituted a dedicated department to take care of long-term in-service support of operational submarine requirements.

The 59m-long submarines have a displacement capacity of 1,040t, are powered by diesel-electric engines and can accommodate a crew of 21.
