The missile was launched from a Russian submarine, which hit the target located on the opposite side of the country on the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia.
“The launch was conducted from a submerged position. The warheads hit the test range on schedule,” he added.
Each Sineva submarine-launched missile carries up to ten warheads and has a range of more than 6,800 miles.
According to military experts, the test has been conducted as a show of force due to diplomatic tensions with the US over the proposed European missile defence shield.
