ITT Corp has been awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract by the US Naval Surface Warfare Center for AN/AVS-9, night vision image intensifier sets.

The AN/AVS-9 system, used by US Navy and US Marine Corps helicopters, is a night vision system consisting of a binocular imaging assembly, a helmet mount, a low-profile power pack, a carrying case and ancillary equipment.

The system aids pilots during night operations and low-level flight by providing imagery required for take-off, landing, and hover as well as en-route flight.

Work under the $36.2m contract will be performed at the company’s facility in Virginia, US, and is expected to be completed by June 2016.
