Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors has been awarded a modification contract by the US Naval Sea Systems Command to provide services for its USS Arleigh Burke DDG 51 Class destroyer.

Under the contract, the company will provide management and engineering services to maintain and modify as necessary the design of DDG 51 Class combat system compartments and topside arrangements.

The USS Arleigh Burke destroyer has been designed to provide multimission offensive and defensive capabilities to the US Navy.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in New Jersey, Maine, Mississippi, California, Washington DC, Virginia, and New York, US.

The $7.68m contract is a modification to a previously awarded contract in support of the US Naval programme executive officer integrated warfare systems.
