The delivery follows a $157.6m contract awarded to EADS for the four aircraft, along with spares provisioning, ground support equipment and associated training.
The maritime patrol aircraft is capable of carrying six tons of payload and can cruise at a maximum speed of 240 knots (450km/h).
The aircraft incorporates a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) system and a search radar, making it ideal for military surveillance missions.
The new CN235 will enhance Mexico’s ability to perform missions including homeland security, search and rescue, military readiness, cargo and personnel transport, drug interdiction and maritime environmental protection.
Currently, the Mexican Navy operates three CN235 aircraft.
