CACI International (CACI) has been awarded a $122m prime contract to support the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) and the Surface Warfare Enterprise to enhance force readiness.

Part of the warfare enterprise and readiness metrics support initiative, the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract includes a one year base period of performance and four option years.

The contract is intended to improve partnerships and coordination between key stakeholders from the navy and the US Marine Corps to enable cooperation with other commands and resource providers.

"This new contract with the Naval Aviation Enterprise and the Surface Warfare Enterprise sharpens our focus on helping keep our armed forces better informed, coordinated, equipped, and mission ready.”

In addition to generating increased efficiencies to lower costs, the partnership will help enhance communication that will lead to improved decision-making, as well as optimising readiness and effectiveness for all armed forces.

Coordination across the enterprises will have a positive impact on areas such as training, maintenance and management of supply chain management and finances.

In addition, the company’s enterprise-wide CMMI maturity level 3 rating for its US operations will help advance delivery of software and systems engineering, as well as increase productivity, quality, and return on investment.

CACI chief operating officer and president of US Operations John Mengucci said the company would draw on its 15-plus years of experience with the NAE, with improved concepts, processes and tools.

"These elements will help enhance decision making to continue to drive down costs while sustaining required fleet readiness," Mengucci said.

CACI president and chief executive officer Dan Allen said: "This new contract with the Naval Aviation Enterprise and the Surface Warfare Enterprise sharpens our focus on helping keep our armed forces better informed, coordinated, equipped, and mission ready."
