PAR Technology’s subsidiary Rome Research Corporation (RRC) has been awarded a contract by the US Navy to provide telecommunications operations and maintenance services at the Global Information Grid (GIG) facility at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa.

Under the contract, RRC will provide seamless communications O&M services in support of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), as well as other tenant commands and US federal agencies.

The company, which has been supporting multiple telecommunications O&M contracts, will form part of the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) Detachment.

"RRC’s support will enable more than 3,000 personnel to perform operations at the camp in Africa."

PAR Technology’s government operations president Steve Lynch said that the Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa, was the only US Military installation in the continent.

RRC’s support will enable more than 3,000 personnel, including nearly 800 from the local area, to perform operations at the camp in Africa.

GIG is a global network of information capabilities, processes and personnel, designed to collect, process, store, disseminate and manage critical data for use by military commanders, policy makers and support personnel.

In addition to providing interfaces to coalition, allied and non-DoD users and systems, GIG provides capabilities to operating locations such as bases, posts, camps, stations, facilities, mobile platforms and deployed sites.

The GIG site will be combined with other communications facilities for the navy in the US and other areas RRC operates worldwide.

The $14.2m contract has a five-year period of performance.
