Patria has rolled out its new Nemo mortar system, which it claims would cater to the requirements of modern warfare and crisis management that demand for mobility, protection and accuracy.

Capable of being mounted on various naval platforms, the turreted, remote-controlled 120mm mortar system comprises the weapon, loading device, turret, fire control system and ammunition storage, which is fully operational with a platform and ammunition.

Aimed at enabling rapid fire support, the new system incorporates indirect and direct fire capability, in addition to multiple rounds simultaneous impact (MRSI) capabilities, which makes it suitable for use in self-defence and a range of indirect fire missions.

Incorporating a network of sensors and situational awareness capability, the fire control system enables sensor-to-shooter operations while boosting readiness for battle and crisis management.

"Nemo’s forward observer system assists in detecting the target and acquiring a complete view of the battlefield situation."

Nemo’s forward observer system assists in detecting the target and acquiring a complete view of the battlefield situation and its fire control system generates fire support plans and fire missions that are spread along a tactical data network to the command-and-control systems.

Patria’s indirect fire system comprises weapons and ammunition; vehicles and vessels; systems with integrated support functions; tactical weather services; fire control system; communication systems; and forward observer functions.

Capable of engaging with moving hostile vessels, Patria Nemo Navy bombards coastal positions, supports landing operations both with indirect and direct fire and support in-land operations of the advancing troops.

Patria Nemo system can be used for applications in land and sea; to carry out operations on the move. The system’s level of protection and firepower in addition to its ability to be part of rapidly moving units makes it well-suited for current market needs.
