According to the Department of War announcement, Canada will account for 52% of the procurement, Japan for 47%, and the US Coast Guard for the remaining 1%.

The systems will be manufactured in Liverpool, New York, and Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Work is scheduled for completion by September 2029, according to the US Department of War contract notice.

The Naval Sea Systems Command awarded the firm-fixed-price modification under an existing contract. Funding includes $38.4m in US fiscal 2026 Foreign Military Sales funds for Canada, $35.4m for Japan and $457,768 in Coast Guard procurement funding.

The AN/SLQ-32(V)6 production award was announced on 9 October 2026. The notice did not specify how many systems are covered by the modification.

Separately, Lockheed Martin received a $16.1m modification for avionics test capabilities, cybersecurity modernisation and specialised repair infrastructure supporting the F-35 Integrated Core Processor.

The work also includes engineering, programme management, planning, readiness reviews and activities associated with introducing the capabilities into service.

Operations will be split between McKinney, Texas, and Palm Bay, Florida, with completion expected in January 2029.

The second modification is funded equally through US fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement allocations for the Air Force and Navy. It was not competitively procured, according to the contract notice.

The latest contracts follow recent awards to Lockheed Martin, including nearly $948m in separate Navy agreements last month for F-35 operational site support and the Trident II (D5) Life Extension programme.
