The SMASH 2000L is a lightweight handheld-operated fire control system.
Equipped with AI, computer vision, and advanced tracking algorithms, the fire control system allows ground forces to identify, follow, and neutralise both aerial and terrestrial threats.
The system is particularly effective at countering drones and sUAS, providing a battle-tested “hard-kill” capability to counter the increasing threat posed by these devices in combat scenarios.

By GlobalDataThe USMC decided to place this new order following extensive “hands-on” evaluation during earlier trials. It aims to integrate the SMASH 2000L more broadly throughout the service.
The SMASH 2000L was initially chosen by the US Joint Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office (JCO) and the Irregular Warfare Technical Support Directorate (IWTSD), previously known as the Counter-Terrorism Technical Support Office.
It was selected for its effectiveness in squad-level counter-drone operations.
The system has gained recognition within various US military branches, having been deployed by US Special Forces and Nato allies.
Smartshooter CEO Michal Mor said: “With SMASH 2000L, dismounted marines are equipped with an effective, combat-proven solution against the growing threat of drones on the battlefield. This new order is an important step toward potential adoption of the SMASH fire control systems at the squad level, and we remain committed to supporting the Marine Corps with cutting-edge, operationally proven kinetic capabilities.”
The company’s portfolio of SMASH Fire Control Systems is already in use by security forces across multiple nations including the US, Israel, the UK, Nato members, and other allied countries.
