Scheduled for delivery in 2030, the Colombian Navy’s PES frigate is planned to be constructed at Colombian shipbuilder Corporación de Ciencia y Tecnología para el Desarrollo de la Industria Naval, Marítima y Fluvial (COTECMAR) facilities in Cartagena.

Damen Naval is responsible for providing engineering support, technical assistance, and shipbuilding materials.

The PES design is based on the Damen Naval SIGMA 10514 series, a model known for its versatility and combat efficiency.

The frigate will be designed to meet the specific needs of the Colombian Navy.

EID is set to collaborate with Colombian partners to facilitate the exchange of expertise and establish a sustained technical partnership.

In 2024, Damen chose EID to deliver C4I solution for the Portuguese Navy´s new MultiPurpose Vessel (MPV).

Damen Naval project director Jasper Oreel said: “Partnering with proven, innovative suppliers like EID supports our commitment to delivering cutting-edge capability.

“This is another example of how we bring global expertise with local impact.”
