The US Marine Corps (USMC) has awarded Greensea Systems, operating as Greensea IQ, a $9m firm-fixed-price task order for the procurement of Bayonet 250 systems.
The system is part of the company’s Bayonet amphibious uncrewed ground vehicles (AUGVs), which also includes smaller two-person portable 150 series and the larger 350 series.

The Bayonet 250 systems will support the USMC’s Littoral Explosive Ordnance Neutralization (LEON) Family of Systems, providing critical capabilities for mine countermeasures and subsea threat mitigation in littoral combat scenarios.
The task order is part of a larger indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract and includes the delivery of nine robots, refurbishment of six previously acquired robots in 2025.
It also includes additional spares to support the USMC’s expanding programme.
Deliveries are scheduled to commence in September 2025.

The contracting activity is managed by Marine Corps Systems Command based in Quantico, Virginia.

The Bayonet 250 vehicles are built to operate in challenging conditions such as surf zones, shallow waters, and beachs.
The systems offer” advanced mobility and autonomy” for “mine detection, obstacle reconnaissance, and explosive ordnance disposal”.
The vehicles enhance operator safety with remote and over-the-horizon control capabilities, leveraging Greensea’s open-architecture autonomy platform.
Part of the Bayonet product family, the Bayonet 250 is designed as an “all-around surf zone robotics workhorse”, according to the company.
The vehicle boasts two-person portability and can be assembled without tools in the field.
The larger footprint and heavier design of the vehicle accommodate additional payloads for diverse operations and harsher weather conditions.
