Elbit Systems of America (ESA) subsidiary M7 Aerospace has secured a maintenance, modification, aircrew and related services (CMMARS) contract from the US Navy.

The company is one of several firms selected by the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division for the CMMARS programme.

Under the contract, M7 Aerospace will provide logistical support and maintenance for various US Department of Defense aircraft for all phases of the acquisition lifecycle.

Companies selected for the programme will compete for individual orders for the US Navy and Air Force.

Based at the San Antonio International Airport, M7 Aerospace is specialised in contractor logistics support, modifications and upgrades and aerospace engineering services.

ESA Sustainment and Support Solutions vice-president Chris Hickey said: “Our goal is always to reduce operating and support costs, while achieving optimum asset readiness and mission performance for our customers.

“We look forward to providing our high level of expertise and experience to the US Navy and others under CMMARS.”

Last month, the US Navy put Northrop Grumman on the list of bidders for a $12.6bn indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contract for CMMARS task orders.

In April 2017, ESA won a contract from the US Navy to deliver a helmet display and tracker system (HDTS) with the continuously computed impact point (CCIP) algorithm for the MH-60S fleet.
