KBR will also provide services in Kuwait and Norway, as well as on 12 prepositioned ships in the Asia-Pacific and Diego Garcia regions.

The contract comes with a base period of five years and an optional ordering period of three years. In addition, there is provision for the extension of contract services by six months.

KBR president and CEO Stuart Bradie said: “KBR understands the responsibility of the USMC’s prepositioning programmes to the US military’s readiness strategy.

“We will uphold our legacy of ensuring US Marines have quick access to the best combat-ready equipment wherever they are in the world.”

The company was previously awarded a ten-year contract to provide similar services to USMC Blount Island Command in 2009.

In May last year, KBR secured a contract modification to provide prepositioning and logistics support services for the 2009 contract.
