The US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a potential foreign military sale (FMS) of the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) follow-on support to the UK.
The US State Department has also approved the proposed sale, which is estimated to be $368.53m.

As part of this deal, the UK Government has requested related equipment and follow-on support for all three segments of the UK’s TWS.
The three segments include Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), All Up Round (AUR) and Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC).
The support will involve unscheduled missile maintenance, recertification of the UK’s missiles, spares, procurement, operational flight test, communication equipment, software and hardware.
Follow-on support will also include in-service support, training, engineering and technical expertise and other logistical and programme support.

By GlobalDataThe principal contractor of the deal will be Raytheon Missiles and Defense in Tucson, Arizona.
In a statement, DSCA said: “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the US by improving the security of a Nato Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.
“The proposed sale will sustain the operating capability of the UK, ensuring maritime forces’ interoperability with the US and other allied forces, as well as their ability to contribute to missions of mutual interest by delivering follow-on support and sustainment.”
According to the agency, one US government and three US contractor representatives will be present in the UK for the deal period.
