The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) has commissioned its fourth and fifth Independence-class littoral mission vessels (LMVs), RSS Justice and RSS Indomitable, at Tuas Naval Base.
With the commissioning, the two navy vessels will join the existing RSN fleet and help strengthen the capabilities of the service.

RSS Justice and RSS Indomitable will be deployed by the navy to protect the waters of Singapore, safeguard its Sea Lines of Communication (SLOC), and contribute to maintaining the security of the region.
Singapore Prime Minister Office Minister, and Finance and Education Second Minister Indranee Rajah said: “Justice and indomitability are two attributes that drive the RSN in its mission to secure our SLOC.
“Both also guide the RSN as it strives to ensure that Singapore continues to enjoy fair economic relations with our international trading partners and that the RSN will always rise to the occasion with an indomitable spirit, ready to respond to potential seaborne threats when called upon.”
Designed to replace the Singapore Navy’s Fearless-class patrol vessels, the LMVs are fitted with smarter technology and sharper capabilities to carry out a wide range of missions efficiently and effectively.

By GlobalDataIn addition, the RSN has opened a new RSS Daring – LMV Simulation Centre jointly developed by the RSN and the Defence Science Technology Agency (DSTA).
The integrated simulation centre replicates LMV’s real-life operating environment and conditions in a full mock-up of the LMV Integrated Command Centre and provides crewmembers with realistic, efficient and effective training. The centre helps reduce the total training time required for each ship by as much as 60%.
