The Russian Naval Air Force is set to receive two new Su-30SM multipurpose, multifunctional fighter aircraft later this month.
Both aircraft will be provided as part of the Attack Aviation rearmament programme, which is currently being conducted the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and the Russian Navy High Command.

The series production of the Su-30SM fighter jets is being carried out by Russian aircraft manufacturer PJSC Irkut, the primary contractor of the state defence order.
The aircraft have been developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and are currently being manufactured at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, a division of PJSC Irkut.
A commissioning ceremony is scheduled to take place for the new aircraft at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant airfield.
The Su-30SM aircraft are planned to enter service with the Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet Naval Aviation following commissioning.
