Saab is the design authority and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the system, including shipboard radar installation.

The system is reported as being fully developed and is scheduled to be delivered in 2016. It will be incorporated onboard the Independence-class littoral combat ship (LCS).

Sea Giraffe 4A’s first demonstration was conducted in November, at the company’s radar test facility in Syracuse, New York, US.

Saab’s Syracuse division is assigned to maintain radar design and production capability and to train US Navy personnel on radar operation and maintenance.

Additionally, it offers a 24/7 customer support, and manages a depot in support of the AN/SPS-77 radars.
