The US Naval Air Systems Command has awarded a one-year contract worth $46.99m to CFM International for the procurement of engines for the P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and C-40A military transport aircraft.

The contractor will procure three CFM56-7B27AE engines for the P-8 Poseidon aircraft and one CFM56-7B24EG04 engine for the C-40A aircraft as part of the deal.

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Ingalls Shipbuilding unit has received a $72.99m contract modification to continue to provide integrated planning yard support for the US Navy's CG-47 Ticonderoga-class warships and DD 963 Spruance class destroyers.

The contracted works will be performed at Ingalls Shipbuilding’s in Pascagoula, Mississippi, up to September 2018.

Raytheon Company has been awarded a $119m contract to incorporate a multi-mode seeker into the US Navy’s Tomahawk Block IV cruise missile by 2022.

The new seeker will enable the Tomahawk cruise missile to defeat moving maritime targets more efficiently.

Raytheon will also modernise the missile’s radio suite and software as part of a separate contract with the US Navy.

KBR Inc has won a contract valued at $441m to provide base operations support services to the US Navy.

The agreement covers a variety of support services relating to ordnance, air operations, vehicles and equipment, public safety, supply, facilities, environmental, and utilities.

The contract features a one-year base period along with seven additional one-year options and was awarded by the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
