The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has awarded a new four-year contract to Cubic Defence Australia for the development and provision of local and distributed simulation-enabled training events.
The A$9m ($7.11m) contract will see the company deliver a wide range of simulation planning, technical support and professional interactors to the navy.

Cubic Defence will also design and supply synthetic training events and networks for naval vessels, which will comprise a combination of dedicated simulator systems.
The development aims to increase the potential for conducting live, virtual and constructive training sessions in the RAN, as well as improve its multisite synthetic training events at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC).
Cubic Defence Australia general manager Miles Macdonald said: “We are proud to partner with the RAN in the ongoing development of the NSWC.

The NSWC was developed at the HMAS Watson Naval Base on Sydney Harbour and is expected to facilitate synthetic training events, along with the delivery of local and distributed mission training activities using both land-based simulators and ships.
Cubic is also the simulation support service contractor for the Australian Defence Simulation and Training Centre (ADSTC), which supports the development of joint training operations.
