The two companies have extended their partnership this year, and will see the creation of a production line for modular pre-fabricated accommodation for future Canadian programmes at Davie in Québec.

Almaco will be responsible for providing AOR vessel’s accommodation as a single structure under the deal, which is to be deployed at the Davie shipyard.

The company will also deliver full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the accommodation, which includes public areas, cabins, a galley and wheelhouse, provision stores and technical spaces.

"We are proud to be part of this project where Almaco and Davie will combine Finnish accommodation production expertise with Canadian shipbuilding capabilities."

Almaco Group president and CEO Vilhelm Roberts said: “We are proud to be part of this project where Almaco and Davie will combine Finnish accommodation production expertise with Canadian shipbuilding capabilities to the great benefit of the vessel’s end users and to meet the timeline for the delivery of the superstructure.

“As part of this partnership, Almaco is sharing its skills and technology in accommodation areas with Davie’s personnel as the company has a long and successful history of providing modular prefabricated structures and cabins around the world.”

The integration of cruise-ship standard accommodation with military requirements will ensure a safe and comfortable experience for the crew members.

Both companies previously partnered to provide high-quality accommodation for Davie’s current and future shipbuilding projects in 2015.
