The US Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) has renewed a $2.3bn H-60 Seahawk Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) reports Tristan Pavlik of Navy.mil.
The renewal contract was signed with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission System (LMRMS).

The contract, which includes a five-year performance period and two-year option, is valid from February 2020 to January 2027.
This is NAVSUP WSS’ fourth PBL contract with LMRMS since the initial award in 2004.
It is aimed at enhancing H-60 components availability and the Mean Time Between Depot Demand (MTBDD).
This agreement includes the delivery and supply support for the MH-60R/S helicopter platform.

By GlobalDataUnder the deal, delivery of individual items such as shop replaceable assemblies (SRAs) and weapon replaceable assemblies (WRAs) are included.
Additionally, it comprises the main rotor blade, main gearbox and the Airborne Low-Frequency Sonar (ALFS).
The ALFS is a new addition to the renewed contract. It supports swift search rate, longer detection range and performs efficiently in deep and shallow water.
The arrangement is based on Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation).
NAVSUP WSS contracting officer Stephen Van Note said: “The demand band structure is utilised to incentivise the contractor to implement product and process improvements to increase time-on-wing and reliability, reduce failures, and improve supply chain processes.”
Contracting officer Tara Hartung added: “This innovative $2.3bn contract will ensure the H-60 platform is always mission-ready.”
High standards have been set for the support of the H-60 fleet in order to meet fleet readiness at all times.
The support is being extended to the US Navy, nine foreign military sales partners, and the US Coast Guard.
In September 2018, the US NAVSUP opened a new headquarters for Fleet Logistics Center in Bahrain.
