ManTech president and chief executive officer Kevin M. Phillips said: “ManTech’s support will bring digital to the mission, enhancing the maintainability of H-53 rotorcraft, while reducing the overall cost, improving time to repair, increasing operational availability and decreasing the total logistics footprint required.”

"The IAC programme helps the DoD science and technology (S&T) and acquisition communities to encourage innovation and technological developments by increasing collaboration."

The arrangement will see the company provide the PMA-261 and collaborating programmes with digital technical data products, including interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs), common-source data tools and integration capabilities for logistics technical data solutions within Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE) systems.

In addition, ManTech will work to ensure the effective, optimised integration of traditional technical data into the new digital solutions, along with maximising the use of automation across the project.

The US DoD IAC programme was originally established in the 1940s and has been designed to operate as a part of the Defense Technical Information Center.

It is intended to provide technical data management and research support for both the DoD and federal government users.

The IAC programme helps the DoD science and technology (S&T) and acquisition communities to encourage innovation and technological developments by increasing collaboration via integrated scientific and technical information (STI) development, as well as furthering dissemination within the DoD and broader S&T community.

Furthermore, the programme facilitates connections between the warfighter and the acquisition community in order to provide an enhanced STI research base, along with flexible multi-static active coherent (MAC) systems that generate new STI for reuse within the US DoD on a daily basis.
