Among the 12 mine countermeasures vessels, six ships will be delivered to the Belgian Navy and the remaining six to the Royal Netherlands Navy.

The first delivery is scheduled to take place in September 2024.

The selection follows after iXblue was contracted last month to deliver its navigation systems for the Spanish Navy’s five new F110-class multi-mission frigates.

IXblue will equip the vessels with its FLS 60 front sonar and inertial navigation system.

According to Naval Group, IXblue’s systems will offer enhanced detection of mines, obstacles, and other objects of threat in real-time.

They will also deliver resilient, reliability and protection capabilities to the vessels and their crews under all circumstances.

Earlier this week, Terma was selected as the supplier of the SCANTER 6000 radar for the MCMVs.

The vessels will also be equipped with complete drone systems supplied by ECA GROUP.

This drone system comprises eighty underwater, surface and aerial drones that are dedicated to operations related to mine countermeasures.
