Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Technical Solutions division has received a contract from the US Navy to provide the Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (NAVELSG) with logistics support products and services.

The task order is valid for five years and was awarded through the SeaPort NxG. It will be carried out at Cheatham Annex, in Yorktown, while other HII locations in Virginia will also support the order.

The company will continue to offer asset management, integrated logistics support, and specialised services, such as overhaul, assembly, hardware and network support.

These activities will boost the ability of NAVELSG to aid forward-deployed service members.

HII Technical Solutions Defense and Federal Solutions business unit president Garry Schwartz said: “For more than a decade, our team has delivered on the mission to ensure the navy and Joint Forces have the materiel our nation’s globally deployed military personnel need for optimal readiness.

NAVELSG is an essential enabler of Maritime Prepositioning Forces, Joint Logistics Over The Shore operations, and maritime forces ashore.

It provides expeditionary cargo handling services for ground, air and terminal operations, as well as tactical refueling and weapons handling and reporting to aid the naval, joint, interagency and connected forces around the world.

HII’s Technical Solutions division supports national security missions across the world with unmanned systems, defence and federal solutions.

In July this year, HII Technical Solutions division restructured its internal organisation and business groups. The move followed a review of the division’s current capabilities and organisational structure.
