The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract spans over a five-year period.

This comes after the company’s extensive development of a customised IHS under an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the MCSC.
The helmet system designed by Galvion is designed to meet the specific operational needs of the USMC, ensuring that all technical requirements are satisfied.
The proprietary no-through hole, hi-cut helmet, which is commercially known as the Hellbender platform, features a unique geometry.
It combines an Enhanced Combat Helmet front shape for compatibility with existing gear and a ridged-back design for enhanced structural stability.

Designed with logistics and maintenance in mind, the helmet supports single-size components like NVG shrouds, rails, harnesses, and accessory straps.
This approach simplifies supply logistics and ensures a straightforward upgrade and support path throughout the helmet’s service life.
As per the GlobalData report titled, ‘The Global Body Armor Market Forecast 2025-2035’, the body armour market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8%, with its value increasing from $3.1bn in 2025 to $5.0bn by 2035.
The market encompasses three main segments: hard armour, soft armour, and protective headgear. Hard armour is expected to lead the market, contributing 56.2% to the overall market share.
Geographically, North America is forecasted to hold the largest market share at 39.4%, according to the report.
The company has delivered more than 1,000 units of the ‘Block 0’ Baseline System for trials, which includes a helmet with an NVD shroud, IHS rails, NVG bungees, and other features, along with the APEX liner system and a specialised helmet cover.
Additionally, the ‘Block 1’ Integrated System has been provided, enhancing the baseline model with Galvion’s E.D.G power pack, cables for SBNVG and ECOTI devices, and integrated lighting options.
