The US State Department has approved a $3.13bn possible foreign military sale (FMS) of nine E-2D Advanced Hawkeye (AHE) airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to the Government of Japan.

The proposed sale also includes 12 multi-function information distribution system / joint tactical radio system (MIDS / JTRS) terminals, 28 T56-A-427A engines, ten APY-9 radars, 11 AN / AYK-27 integrated navigation control and display systems (INCDS), 12 AN / ALQ-217 electronic support measures (ESM), and 30 LN-251 embedded global positioning systems (GPS) / inertial navigation systems (EGI).

Rolls-Royce has been selected by Boeing to supply AE 3007N engines for the US Navy’s MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aerial tanker.

The MQ-25 Stingray tanker production contract worth $805m was awarded by the US Navy to Boeing in August 2018.

The US Navy has awarded a $21m contract to Tyonek Global Services LLC (TGS) and Tyonek Native Corporation for aviation maintenance support.

The scope of work includes repair and maintenance of aircraft, engines, as well as associated components and materials at the US Navy’s maintenance depots in Florida and Virginia.

The contract will support depot-level maintenance at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE).

The Protective Group (TPG), a Point Blank Enterprises company, has been awarded a contract by Sikorsky Aircraft for a lightweight crew protection kit.

TPG will also provide individual ballistic panels for the US Marine Corps’ CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopter.

The ballistic panels will be installed below the cabin and ramp floor, as well as within the cabin side frames.
