The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) has awarded an $85m contract to Elbit Systems Ltd for the supply of electronic warfare (EW) systems.

The new EW suite is expected to be installed on-board the Israeli Navy’s Sa’ar 6-class corvettes to provide effective operational capabilities.

The company is set to design, develop, produce, test, evaluate and modify new training solutions in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida, under the nine-year training systems contract (TSC) IV.

Participating organisations are expected to help procure materials and services to support the development and production of the UUV family of systems as part of the deal.

Work under the contract will be performed until 2023.

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division has secured a $165.5m contract for the delivery of LPD 30, the first Flight II-class, next-generation amphibious ship, to the US Navy.

The company will procure long-lead-time materials, as well as deck equipment, main engines, diesel generators and propellers for the new landing platform dock under the arrangement.

LPD 30 is intended to replace the ageing Whidbey Island (LSD 41) and Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) dock landing ships.

The vessel’s construction is expected to begin in 2020.

CACI International has been awarded a $48.5m contract to support the US Navy’s counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities.

The one-year deal will see CACI provide engineering, technical, integration, installation, sustainment, and project management services to the Naval Air Systems Command Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) AIRWorks Rapid Development Capabilities Integrated Product team.
