BMT and Teledyne Marine Vehicles group have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing cooperation on future projects in maritime autonomy.
The agreement extends their existing collaboration, in which BMT has provided technical consultancy for Teledyne Marine Vehicles’ underwater autonomy programmes in the UK and abroad.

BMT’s role includes offering through-life support and cyber security expertise, as well as delivering a Safety and Environmental Case Review (SECR) for the UK Ministry of Defence.
The review addresses requirements for operational safety and environmental compliance associated with autonomous maritime platforms.

The group manufactures autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) such as the Gavia, Osprey, SeaRaptor class AUVs, Slocum gliders, and APEX floats.
These vehicles are currently deployed by the UK Royal Navy and are also utilised by other military, commercial, and scientific users globally.

Earlier in 2025, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) entered into a multi-year framework agreement with Teledyne Gavia for the procurement of AUVs.
