The Bell Boeing Joint Program Office has received a $143.86m contract to deliver performance-based logistics and engineering support for the V-22 platform.
The firm-fixed-price requirements contract is an 11-month base contract and involves four one-year option periods.

Under the contract, Bell Boeing will provide support at Texas and Pennsylvania for the V-22 aircraft belonging to the US Navy, US Air Force and US Marine Corps.
Boeing US Navy and Marine Corps Services vice-president Pat Walsh said: “As one of the most in-demand assets for the US military, the V-22 needs a support team that understands the technical aspects of the aircraft, as well as customers’ operational needs.
“Bell Boeing is excited to bring our OEM [original equipment manufacturer] expertise to the V-22 fleet and deliver solutions that help ensure the aircraft are ready for any mission.”
The company was awarded a $4bn modification contract by the Pentagon in July last year to manufacture 39 CMV-22B aircraft for the Navy; 14 MV-22B aircraft for the Marine Corps; and one CV-22B for the Air Force.

By GlobalDataThe performance-based logistics (PBL) contract will add support for the Navy’s CMV-22B variant.
As part of the PBL contract, Bell Boeing will work towards the improvement of aircraft maintainability and mission readiness for the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps V-22 fleets.
The scope of work includes site activation, maintenance planning, training and trainer support, and support equipment.
In addition, Bell Boeing will provide dedicated field personnel for all V-22 squadrons around the world.
The company uses data analytics to support maintenance efforts. This will lead to predictive and condition-based maintenance that will improve aircraft availability and readiness.
Bell V-22 Program vice-president Chris Gehler said: “The Bell Boeing team is dedicated to providing the safest and most reliable aircraft to the warfighter. We will continue to produce innovative solutions and deliver technical expertise, training, and maintenance to enhance readiness.”
The CMV-22B Osprey long-range tiltrotor aircraft is the US Navy’s future variant of MV-22B Osprey assault support aircraft and will be used to transport special warfare teams, mail and cargo from shore to aircraft carriers.
The aircraft will also be deployed in support of shore or sea-based combat search-and-rescue (CSAR) missions.
